Hi, I'm Karen. I started out with double majors in accounting and finance. My first career was working on Wall Street analyzing companies and communicating findings—first for a large asset manager and then for a large regional brokerage firm. It was during this time that I earned my Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. (The CFA is a top-tier credential for investment management, comparable in prestige to the Certified Public Accountant with both requiring rigorous exams and being globally recognized.) I continued my career in the investor relations field where I consulted with CFOs and CEOs of publicly traded companies on their investor relations strategies.
After Wall Street and after the birth of my second child in 2006, I wanted to start a bookkeeping business (evidenced by an old family Christmas letter recently found), but instead took a different path. For the next 15 years or so, besides traveling with my husband and two kids, I followed one of my other interests in holistic health and became a small business owner and practitioner of a wellness practice, which is now closed.
At this time, I'm thrilled to come full circle and am excited to offer my bookkeeping services to small business owners at a time when the technology has evolved—making the value proposition of a skilled & thoughtful bookkeeping professional higher than ever before.
My preferred platform is QuickBooks Online. Within the bookkeeping industry, I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a certified Associate Digital Bookkeeper by the Digital Bookkeeper Association.
At Keating Bookkeeping, we can help with all your bookkeeping needs including cleanups, getting ready for tax time, and regular monthly bookkeeping (payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, 1099s and more).
